What makes the CasaGIN brand truly unique?
We launched the CasaGIN brand two years ago now and the success we are achieving has exceeded our expectations . This is why, a few weeks after our second birthday, we want to talk to you about how this young community was born and what are the values that have guided us since birth, but above all why every day more and more people choose to wear our clothes. CasaGIN is inspired by a great love for nature and the desire to create something positive for people and the environment . It represents a place of harmony and well-being, conceived for those seeking a sustainable and conscious lifestyle, where they can find products that are good for their health and the planet. We believe that everything we come into contact with transmits its energy to us . What we eat, touch and wear. We asked ourselves if clothing could also give us positive sensations. And this is why we searched, tried and tested many fabrics before choosing the most suitable ones to create our garments . And we have found the best, for your skin and for the environment.
Concerned about our well-being and that of our land, we have chosen to use only ecologically revolutionary plant fibres , such as TENCEL™ Lyocell, derived from the eucalyptus leaf . But what is it more specifically?
TENCEL™ Lyocell is produced with environmentally friendly processes from wood of sustainable origin, i.e. with renewable raw materials. First made in Mobile, Alabama nearly 30 years ago, TENCEL™ Lyocell is the center of attention today as a plant-based fiber widely used in clothing. There are several brands that are investing in this soft and silky fabric, capable of giving garments a fresh and natural appearance , giving those who wear them a real feeling of well-being.
It all starts with wood and more precisely with eucalyptus. After being harvested, the wood is cut into pieces and ground into pulp , through a process that involves the use of a solvent belonging to the amino acid family, which is also used in body care products, the absence of risks of which it is proven in dermatological and toxicological fields. What remains is raw cellulose , a viscous liquid whose mixture is pushed through spinnerets that allow the emergence of shiny white TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers which, after washing and drying, are ready to be spun and finally woven to create wonderful garments, like those of CasaGIN .
TENCEL™ Lyocell can have many different textures, but the base fabric is soft to the touch . It is hypoallergenic and does not make you sweat , as well as having an absorbency capacity 50% higher than that of cotton. This is why it is perfect for practicing sports such as yoga, pilates, trekking and winter sports . Soft as silk but resistant like polyester, this fiber of natural origin is also extraordinarily breathable . These are the three key advantages that TENCEL™ Lyocell offers compared to many other alternatives, as also stated by Robert van de Kerkhof, commercial director of Lenzing, the Austrian company from which we at CasaGIN purchase this truly innovative and sustainable fibre.
Sustainable because eucalyptus grows rapidly, without artificial irrigation and virtually no pesticides, on land no longer suitable for growing food . The production of TENCEL™ Lyocell does not use toxic chemicals, and 99.5% of the dissolving agent can be used repeatedly. Compared to cotton, TENCEL™ Lyocell has the potential to use less than half the amount of water in production . The breathability of the fabric is also great for the planet, as it can be washed less frequently, leading to great water savings.
This is why at CasaGIN we have chosen this extraordinary material. Soft and breathable, lightweight and comfortable, TENCEL™ Lyocell is made to last . Its elasticity and resistance make it suitable for those looking for a garment that lasts a long time , thus avoiding unnecessary waste and too frequent wardrobe changes.
In short, TENCEL™ Lyocell is a new fiber that represents a milestone in the development of environmentally sustainable fabrics . Furthermore, in addition to purchasing the raw material from an Austrian company certified Oeko Tex 100 and GOTS, at CasaGIN we have chosen to follow each production phase in an ethical way, in small Italian companies where textile work is still a manufacturing art . Our suppliers are 0 km, small Venetian companies where the passion of every single person makes the difference. The spinning, dyeing, weaving and more general production of our garments are carried out in Italy . This is why we can talk about true Made in Italy. Protecting the environment and paying attention to people's health start from our behaviour . It is on the basis of this inspiration that we have built the CasaGIN philosophy.
