The production of organic cotton must comply with many requirements. Pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers must not be used. Only organic fertilizers may be used.
In order to produce this yarn there are strict controls both in the production phase and in the processing phase. For dyeing there are strict certifications (oeko-test) in order to exclude the presence of toxic and/or harmful substances for man and for the environment. Organic cotton is softer and lasts longer than traditional cotton. The organic cotton fibers are longer and purer, which is why we use it in a blend with more technical yarns as for our socks, in order to provide the finished product with more resistance and softness.
The difference that characterizes this fabric starts from the seeds, they are not treated with chemicals and the use of genetically modified GMO seeds is prohibited.
Our organic cotton is GOTS certified. Global Organic Textile Standard is the certification that guarantees the organic origin of the raw material and the lowest possible environmental impact along the entire production chain, with great attention to ethical aspects.
